This workshop is part of the Montville Woods Long Weekender, there will be lots of wood action so check out our socials for details!
This workshop is a greenwood spoon carving workshop run by Danny Holmes from Mudjimba Woodcraft. Starting out with a greenwood billet you will draw out your spoon design and then with careful guidance you will axe out the shape. From here you will be using traditional methods and tools like a drawknife, sloyd knife and hook knife to complete your handcarved spoon. Greenwood carving is taught using fresh timber which is a different feel to carving with dry timber. This is the traditional way wooden spoons have been made for a very long time. If you would like to slow down and take a step back in time, this is the perfect workshop for you. This workshop is a beginner level class but is also perfect for self-taught starters who would like a challenge and some additional knowledge.
* The class is small and all the tools are provided, along with expert tuition. Please wear closed in shoes and clothes that don't mind some sawdust.
* Please note that our workshops are for 16+ years only.
* Workshops require a minimum of 4 bookings to go ahead.
